ATKV women’s hard work honoured at MICE Awards
In August, we celebrate women as the cornerstones of society. Women are caregivers, bridge-builders, entrepreneurs and leaders. They play an indispensable role in communities and deserve all the recognition due to them.
Two women from ATKV Resorts were recently honoured for their dedication and hard work at ATKV Buffelspoort and ATKV Klein-Kariba respectively.
On 5 August, Ronel Maartens, resort manager at ATKV Klein-Kariba, and Louise van den Berg, conference coordinator at ATKV Buffelspoort, received MICE Awards at a prestigious ceremony.
The Women in MICE Awards honour women who contribute to the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) industry through leadership, innovation and professional excellence.
Louise received the award for Junior MICE Coordinator, while Ronel was named Operational Champion of the Year.
Ronel, who began her career as a receptionist at ATKV Klein-Kariba and now leads the resort, says it is a tremendous honour to receive the award.
“From day one it was a great privilege simply to be nominated. Being named the winner is a true honour. It reaffirms to me that hard work, perseverance and passion are noticed and rewarded.
“The award motivates me to keep growing. I hope my journey can inspire others to continue believing in themselves and never give up.”
According to Louise, the award confirms that success cannot be measured only by what you achieve.
“Receiving an award like this for something you love is a career highlight. It makes every early morning, every long day and every challenge worthwhile.”
Louise believes the award has given her renewed courage to reach even greater heights.
“I want to create more opportunities that bring people together, and organise unforgettable events. This award proves that when you pour your heart into your work and give your best every day, your efforts are noticed and appreciated.”
