The ATKV supports the next generation of entrepreneurs
The top 30 participants in the Maak My ’n Miljoenêr competition have been announced, and the next exciting phase of the competition now lies ahead.
The competition, an initiative by Albert van Wyk in partnership with ATKV Youth Projects, the MOS Initiative, Akademia and ATKV Resorts, provides young entrepreneurs with the opportunity to develop their skills, gain practical experience and receive valuable mentorship.
Earlier this year, Albert visited 96 high schools across South Africa and addressed more than 120 000 learners. From 315 entries, a top 60 was selected to attend entrepreneurship workshops and participate in the hot seat round. After this, the top 30 entrepreneurs were announced.
During the July school holidays, the participants will take part in a series of challenge rounds where they will be exposed to real-world business challenges at various companies. These challenges will test their problem-solving abilities, leadership skills, teamwork and adaptability.
For the first time, participants will not only be judged on their existing businesses, but also on their ability to develop and implement solutions to real business problems.
For the ATKV, projects such as Maak My ’n Miljoenêr form part of a broader commitment to youth development. By exposing young people to entrepreneurship and practical learning experiences, the ATKV helps equip the next generation of business leaders, innovators and job creators.
The challenge rounds will determine which participants secure their place in the top 20. The new season of the TV series on VIA (DStv channel 147) will be broadcast on Monday evenings at 19:00 from 24 August.
Follow these inspiring young entrepreneurs’ journey as they pursue their dreams and compete for the title, as well as more than R50 000 in cash, various sponsored prizes and a year-long mentorship programme with Albert van Wyk.
